The Re-Taking of Pelham 123
Live @ the Kitchen in NYC 2005
"Steve Horowitz' creation is an imaginative updating of composer David Shire's score for the 1974 film 'The Taking of Pelham One Two Three.' Horowitz and a 14-piece orchestra -- with everything from violins to electric guitar and laptop sampler in the mix -- performed the swelling, tense car-chase jazz-funk piece live against the backdrop of a new short film by filmmaker Jane Brill. - David Weiss, Mix Magazine
"What most struck me about Steve's music is that if I were hired to score this picture today instead of 1974, I would hope that my score would come out sounding the way that Steve's does."
- David Shire, composer

Travelin' This Lonesome Road
True Life Blues, The Songs of Bill Monroe
Grammy Winner best Bluegrass Album 1996
Engineered by Steve Horowitz
Steve was one of the engineers on this Various Artists - Sugar Hill- Grammy Winner, Best Bluegrass album (1996)- The 17 songs on this album comprise a loving tribute to the man generally considered to have invented bluegrass music, and the album was timed well, coming out just shortly before Monroe's death in 1996 at the age of 85. Peter Rowan a former Blue Grass Boy and a tireless champion of Monroe's work, has certainly earned the right to sing "Travelin' This Lonesome Road" Highly recommended. ~ Rick Anderson, Rov
